MR. RIGHT

A DATING APP FOR YOUR FRIENDS TO INTRODUCE THE RIGHT GUY

JEN WORKS DAY AND NIGHT WITH NO TIME TO MEET MEN
She needs a way for her friends to recommend the "right man"  for her.
Solve a Classmates Problem
Concept & Paper Prototype Only

THE THINKING:

She doesn't trust using social apps like Hinge or Tinder for fear clients might see it.

So she wants her friends to recommend her men

No time to go out socially she works 16 hour days

she does chores on weekends

Then she can choose which ones to meet in person

I came up with 3 quick initial concepts

CONCEPT 1.
An app that pulls 6 degrees of sepration from her address book and social media,
sorts by availability  and present options to her friends to pick for Jen.
FEEDBACK: Too steril, clinical and she wants people her friends know.

CONCEPT 2.
Pool event calendars like concerts, meetups, sports etc... where men are in high percentage.
Sync her calendar schedule and send reminders of all events  at the end of each work day.
FEEDBACK: She's not interested in meeting strangers out at night.

CONCEPT 3.
A game where her friends compete to see who can get her on a second date.
FEEDBACK: Needs to be less intrusive and more friendly.

Most imporant thing I learned rom testing concepts

She only wants to meet men who are pre-validated
by her friends and only in-person.

Last Iteration Based on Feedback

The concept:
An intro is based on what her friends think is a guy's unique or special character.
This will increase the friend's engagement by leveraging the need for their validation.
Based on the assumption men who stand out are more attractive, the friends will try to find
something interesting about a guy they may want to introduce to Jen.
Knowing what is special about a guy may increase the probability Jen would be willing to meet him.

Once she likes a guy, a prompt is sent to her friend to introduce them, rather than to the guy.
This increases the involvement of her friend and will increase validation when the two meet.

Her friends pick a guy

from thier social contacts

WriteSomething that makes him Special

Jen recieves the Profile and Likes it

Her friend recieves a prompt

to connect her with him.

What I learned from paper prototype testing this app.

Jen highly values her friends' opinion and really does trust her friends to introduce the right man.
The human relationship is stronger than the convenience of data mining.
People liked that it would be simple and quick to recommend a date.
They confirmed that adding  the "SPECIAL " field would make recommendations more interesting.

NEXT STEPS
How will the friend introduce them to each other?
I was going to leave it up to the friends to decide how the two would be introduced.
But I 'd like to do more research
